Francesco Totti to score against Cesena @ 11/10

With leading scorer Pablo Osvaldo ruled out for a number of weeks with a thigh injury, the burden of scoring goals for Roma suddenly rests squarely on the shoulders of Francesco Totti, as it has done for much of his illustrious career.

There seems to be life left in the old boy yet, judging by the way he assumed that particular responsibiilty by grabbing a brace in his side’s previous match against Chievo two weeks ago.

Admittedly, they were his first goals of an injury-affected campaign, but the Giallorossi legend will surely be licking his lips at the prospect of welcomng a Cesena side who sit in a lowly 18th place in Serie A.

The visitors have also been underwhelming on the road, losing seven of their nine away matches, and 3Way odds of 8/1 underline the task they face at Stadio Olimpico – they are the largest on offer in the Italian top flight this weekend.

Cesena have also lost their last two away fixtures 4-1 and a similar scoreline could well be on the cards here, with Totti a likely and very popular benficiary.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to score against Stuttgart @ 11/10

The Dutch front man has been a pivotal part of Schalke’s campaign so far, scoring a hugely impressive 15 goals in 16 games. On Saturday they welcome a  Stuttgart side who have lost four of their eight matches to date, but more telling could be Schalke’s home record.

The men from Gelsenkirchen have won seven of their nine games at the Veltins Arena and only Bayern Munich have scored more than their 26 goals on home soil.

Schalke have actually scored 15 goals in their last four home fixtures and yes, you guessed it, Huntelaar has hit the back of the net in all of them. He has formed a great partnership with Spanish legend Raull and will be their main lynchpin again as the Bundesliga resumes after its winter break, so he is well worth his place in our treble.

Antonio Di Natalie to score against @ 17/20

The Udinese goal machine is the Serie A top scorer with 13 goals in 17 games so far this season and a home match against Catania should see him find the net again.

Since the Italian winter break he has scored three goals, bagging a double against Cesena and a goal at Genoa. The experienced front man will also be on penalty duty so if a spot kick is taken expect Di Natalie to slot it home, just as he did in the corresponding fixture last season, which Udinese won 2-0.

And when Catania headed to Stadio Friuli in the previous campaign (2009-10), Di Natale helped himself to a hat-trick, while there’s also the small matter of the fact that he scored in every home game he played in 2011.

Impressive stuff indeed and bad news for a Catania side still reeling from their 2-0 defeat at lowly Bologna last time out. Assuming both Totti and Huntelaar oblige on Saturday, Di Natale should bring the treble home 24 hours later.
