Bet on Juventus to cash in on Roma’s woes
At 19/20, Antonio Conte’s men are favourites to come away with all three points, and to sneak a few goals into the bargain.

Roma-Juventus is, without a doubt, one of Italy’s most underestimated rivalries.
Francesco Totti once claimed back in 2008 that some Lupi fans even identified Juve as their main enemy rather than Lazio.
In fact, his breath-taking performance saw him bag a brace and unceremoniously dump Luciano Spalletti in the nearest JobCentre, or whatever they’re called in Italy.
Though the Bianconeri’s marmite-like popularity is one reason for this, as is the negative feeling between Italy’s capital and her former industrial powerhouse, there is no doubt that certain games have rather fanned the flames.
Maurizio Turone’s disallowed offside goal against Juventus back in 1981 is an oft-remembered incident, as Roma could only manage a draw in a close title race eventually won by Giovanni Trapattoni’s men.
Another is the Giallorossi’s stunning 4-0 win at the Stadio Olimpico, with Antonio Cassano scoring a memorable brace and attacking a corner flag (reasons unknown).
To rub salt in the wound, the notorious Uruguayan bad boy Pablo Montero was derisively mocked by Francesco Totti as he walked off following a (surprisingly rare, I wonder why that was) red card.
It’s a good job Roma fans still remember and cherish that result – it’s the last time they’ve beaten the Turinese outfit at home, and this was back in 2004. Since then, Juventus have often impressed at the Stadio Olimpico – even brutally knocking Roma out cold by four goals to one in 2009.
Even Diego, the expensive playmaker who famously flopped at the Comunale, managed to score here.
In fact, his breath-taking performance saw him bag a brace and unceremoniously dump Luciano Spalletti in the nearest JobCentre, or whatever they’re called in Italy.
This good run of form is one of many factors that have led bwin to pronounce themselves in Juve’s favour in the 3Way football betting market .
In fact, even with a handicap of 1:0, the visitors look good bets to triumph at 13/5. Fans looking to use the free £25 bet they get for joining bwin.com could see a return of £90 were Juventus to stick it out.
Roma have been struggling of late, having conceded five goals in two games without reply.
Last weekend’s farcical performance in the 3-0 defeat at the hands of Fiorentina even provoked an apology from Luis Enrique, a man increasingly mystified by his players’ apparent lack of commitment.
Some would argue that this is the perfect comeback scenario for Roma, and you can see why. Torn apart in Florence and stranded in eighth place, Roma could still trump all the odds and pull out a stunning performance as Olympique Marseille recently did against PSG.
Though the Giallorossi’s odds of 57/20 would certainly guarantee a handsome pay-out, I for one will not be taking them. Luis Enrique’s men have it in them to trouble Juve (they are 7/5 to beat Buffon once), but the problem is their defence is still very creaky.
Though AC Milan were impressive when they triumphed here back in October, it’s hard not to argue that Roma’s slack defending did a lot of the work for them. This is why Juve are on odds of 19/20 to net twice or more, an incredible stat for an away team in a game of this magnitude.
Antonio Conte’s side’s good record against other big clubs is another factor. Last season, the Old Lady netted twice in the second half to steal the points, whilst this season Conte’s men have so far beaten Lazio (and that was at the Olimpico, by the way), Internazionale and AC Milan.
Juventus are, in fact, likely to net a couple more – they have been on fire this season, and are starting to find the kind of form that would make them worthy Serie A champions.
It might thus be worth going for a Multiple Correct Score of 1:2, 1:3 or 1:4, temptingly priced at 15/4.
The visitors will probably take the lead (67/100), before exploiting Roma’s defensive problems on the counter. Antonio Conte’s side have netted nine of their last eleven goals in the last 45, and are consequently 17/4 to score twice in that period of time.
In terms of scorers, Juventus’ strength seems to be their lack of a clear-cut capocannoniere.
Rather, bet on Francesco Totti’s pride, not to mention his good record (four goals since 2007) against Juventus. At 3/2, he’s an interesting bet to give Roma some hope on Monday.
