A brace from Juan Mata, plus goals from David Luiz and Ramires, gave Roberto Di Matteo’s side a comfortable 4-0 victory – their first of this year’s Champions League group stage – as they bid to become the first team since AC Milan in 1990 to successfully defend the European Cup.
A 2-2 draw in their opening match against Juventus at Stamford Bridge leaves Chelsea on top of Group E, level on points with Shakhtar Donetsk, who the west London side now face in a double header as this season’s continental competition gets into full swing.
Unbeaten Chelsea are now clear favourites to win their group at 21/20, with Juventus, who have just two points after being held to a 1-1 draw at home by Shakhtar last night, at 7/4 and the Ukrainians at 3/1. If you are a wild optimist, you can get 999/1 on pointless Nordsjælland.

The bookies at bwin think that Chelsea will be in the last 16 regardless of whether they win the group, with odds of 7/50 on the holders qualifying for the knock-out stages not giving much away. Juve and Donetsk are also odds-on at 2/5 and 4/5 respectively, with the Danes at 100/1.
Chelsea have come in from an ante-post 20/1 to win the Champions League again, which is the same price as the Italian champions, but some way longer than favourites Barcelona, who are 47/20.
