Back Ozil to open the scoring against Greece
Mario Gomez is the obvious choice but a punt on the Real Madrid man to break the deadlock could pay off handsomely at football betting odds of 6/1.
With favourites Germany playing 2004 winners Greece in the second Euro 2012 quarter-final on Friday, it would be far too easy to make a number of eurozone-based jokes.
Instead, we will take a look at the goalscorer markets and who we fancy to get the ball in the onion bag on Friday.
Of course, it is Germany who are overwhelming favourites to win the match and their star centre-forward Mario Gomez leads the goalscorer markets.
The Bayern Munich man is currently even money to score any time in the 90 minutes and a very short-looking 5/2 to get the first goal.

He has already scored three goals in this tournament and the creativity of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mesut Ozil provides him with plenty of chances in front of goal.
Lukas Podolski opened the scoring in their final group game against Denmark and is 5/1 to repeat that feat, while Ozil is an interesting proposition at 6/1 to score first and 9/4 in the any time market.
