Trust the Bluebirds to fly into the play-offs
Cardiff can cement sixth place by beating Palace to nil at football betting odds of 23/10.
Having sat third in the Championship table as recently as Valentine’s Day, Cardiff City fans would love to have been planning their promotion party at this point in the season but an alarming drop-off in form, partly due to their Carling Cup heroics, sees them in a final day shoot-out with Middlesbrough for the one remaining play-off spot.
The good news for the Bluebirds is that they still hold a two-point advantage over Boro and their superior goal difference (+12 to +2) means that a draw, priced at 21/10 in bwin’s 3Way football betting market, would nearly certainly see them over the line.
However, they will want to go into the play-offs with some momentum and Malky Mackay will hope facing the side who they dramatically beat in the Carling Cup semi-finals will inspire them to pick up all three points.
The visitors are favourites at 11/10 in 3Way football betting with Palace 13/5 to open the door for Boro with an upset win.

The teams were almost impossible to split in those Carling Cup semis, trading 1-0 home wins before Cardiff did their best Bayern Munich impersonation with a convincing 3-1 penalty shoot-out victory.
The league encounter at Cardiff City Stadium in November was equally as tight with Cardiff needing a late Joe Mason goal to seal a 2-0 triumph – so 7/10 for another game of under 2.5 goals looks a good way to go.
Palace are 33/4 to replicate their 1-0 cup win and new customers using the £25 free bet they receive when registering with bwin would win £231.25 if they do.
However, Cardiff’s greater need means they should be backed to come from behind to at least draw (333/100 in the run of play market) and, if 30-goal trio Peter Whittingham, Kenny Miller and Joe Mason hit form, maybe even claim all three points by winning the second half at 29/20.
Yet to keep their fans’ nerves from jangling further the Bluebirds will surely try to start fast, meaning 3/4 for them to open the scoring for the 39th time this season is also worth considering.
