Those looking for a value long-odds punt this weekend should look no further than betting on Getafe to shock Barcelona with a 13/2 home win.
Make no mistake, Barcelona are still overwhelming favourites to make it four wins out of four this campaign – despite rumbles of discontent from Cesc Fabregas and an injury to Andres Iniesta over the international break. Their 9/25 odds for victory are too short for my liking though.
When you consider that Getafe’s gritty up-and-at-them play has brought them home wins over both Real Madrid last month and Barcelona on their most recent visit last November, 13/2 is just too good to turn down. You could still end up losing your stake, but there is a much better chance of almost multiplying it by seven than the bookies give Getafe credit for.

A 3/2 bet on Barcelona not to score in the first half is one for those who share my belief that Barca will struggle but reckon they will still win – two late Leo Messi goals were needed on their first away trip of the season having trailied Osasuna 1-0 until the 76th minute.
Their tiny Coliseum Alfonso Perez Stadium may lie on Mother Teresa Avenue on the southern outskirts of Madrid, but Getafe are not known for their charity. Indeed, the 19 goals they conceded at home last season is the same figure that champions Real Madrid let in at the Bernabeu.
Other options worth backing given that Barcelona face a tough visit include the draw at 4/1. A 3/2 bet on Barcelona not to score in the first half is one for those who share my belief that Barca will struggle but reckon they will still win – two late Leo Messi goals were needed on their first away trip of the season having trailied Osasuna 1-0 until the 76th minute.
Backing Getafe to win at 27/20 with the ‘away no bet’ option also looks an inspired choice. This will see your stake returned if Barca win, as they are of course inclined to do on good day whatever mistakes the bookies make.
