Home Heroes: Doncaster, Notts County and Aldershot offer 6/1 treble

The new season may have only kicked off again on Saturday but the action is coming thick and fast in League One and League Two, with Dean Saunders’ Doncaster Rovers ready to do battle with Bury, while Notts County and Aldershot are favourites to dispatch Hartlepool and Exeter City respectively.

In the latest instalment of bwinbetting’s new ‘Home Heroes’ series for England’s bottom two tiers, we will be offering three surefire home win tips that offer good returns.

While backing Aldershot, Doncaster and Notts County for single bets could see you collect decent winnings, a treble with odds of just over 6/1 looks particularly tempting and translates into a return of £122.40 for anyone using their free £20 bet after registering with bwin.

So, without further ado, here are the reasons why you can count on Doncaster, Notts County and Aldershot in League One and League Two this midweek.

Doncaster Rovers to beat Bury @ 4/5

Dean Saunders and Doncaster will be confident heading into this game following an impressive 3-0 away win at Walsall on Saturday. Bury, meanwhile, had to make do with a point after failing to break down a shot-shy Brentford team.

Rovers’ recent form at home has been good, with positive results in friendlies against Hull City and Barnsley and a win against York City in the Capital One Cup last time out at the Keepmoat Stadium.

And history is on Doncaster’s side, with the hosts comfortably winning the previous two meetings between the League One teams.

With the likes of Robbie Blake and Billy Paynter to call on for goals, Doncaster look solid favourites to claim victory at odds of 4/5.

Notts County to beat Hartlepool @ 4/5

The surreal days of Sol Campbell and Sven Goran Eriksson are a distant memory for Notts County now, with manager Keith Curle fashioning a solid League One outfit.

Kicking off their home campaign against Hartlepool United should be an easy three points. The Pools began their League One assault with a limp 0-0 draw at home to Swindon, which means the club has now won just one of their last eight league fixtures.

The Magpies, on the other hand, will step out at Meadow Lane having claimed a credible 2-1 away win at Crewe Alexandra. They also have a good record against Hartlepool at home, having won their last two meetings by a comfortable 3-0 scoreline.

With veteran goal-grabber Lee Hughes in the mix for Curle’s side, another home win at 4/5 looks pretty good value.

Aldershot to beat Exeter City @ evens

Aldershot and Exeter enjoyed contrasting fortunes on the opening day of the League Two season.

While the Shots impressed with a solid 2-0 victory at Plymouth, a bit further down the road, Exeter were suffering humiliation with a 3-0 home defeat against Morecambe.

Worse could be yet to come though, with Aldershot heading into this match as strong favourites for a home win having won each of the last five meetings between the teams at the Recreation Ground.

Dean Holdsworth’s men appear to have carried through their good form from the back end of last season into the present, with the Plymouth win representing their sixth unbeaten game in the league.

Exeter, meanwhile, come into the match with one of the worst away records in the division. Including last season, the visitors have lost nine consecutive games away from home – so backing the Shots represents something of a no-brainer.
