Playing Away: Believe in the Blades, the Gills and the Red Devils
After landing an impressive 9/1 treble in midweek, Jack Beresford retains two of his victorious teams and adds a filthy-rich third to the mix.
Having re-discovered my winning ‘Playing Away’ touch in midweek, I am now going for a treble of Crawley Town, Sheffield United and Gillingham to beat Oxford United, Brentford and Leyton Orient respectively on Saturday.
On Tuesday night I got a glimpse of what it must be like to be Fernando Torres. For weeks and weeks I failed to hit the target with my predictions, only to suddenly spark into life with what was effectively a ‘tap-in’ of away win predictions.
So thanks to Exeter, Gillingham and Sheffield United for helping me bring home the bacon with a trio of victories that offered a return of £184 for anyone following the tips with their free £20 bet after registering with bwin.
After helping me to avoid another week of soul searching in my tactics shed, I have opted to stick with two of the three teams that helped me secure that result for my latest effort.
| Primera Division | ||||

| Mallorca | 1-1 | Betis Sevilla | £140.00 | (6/1) |
| Mallorca | 2-1 | Betis Sevilla | £170.00 | (15/2) |

And if you were wondering, another winning treble this weekend is priced up at 33/2, although I wouldn’t blame you if you only fancy picking one of them to back individually.
Crawley Town to beat Brentford @ 11/5
Crawley may not be the most popular team in League One after effectively buying their way up the divisions in recent years, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t reap the rewards of this investment.
The Red Devils head to Brentford in good form having won two games on the bounce and will be confident of adding to that tally, given their fine away record this term.
Crawley are unbeaten in four games on the road, winning three and drawing one, with their last result on the road being a comfortable 2-0 win at Carlisle.
Brentford, meanwhile, have won just one of their last five competitive games and drew a blank in their last home fixture. Expect the Championship chasers to deliver at 11/5.
Sheffield United to beat Leyton Orient @ 21/20
The Blades continue to motor along at a steady pace in League One, having claimed an important away win against Hartlepool in midweek.
This result helped Danny Wilson’s side maintain their unbeaten start in the division as they aim to go one better than last season’s heart-breaking shoot-out defeat to Huddersfield in the play-off final.
Away form has once again been key, with United now looking for a third straight win on the road in League One. Interestingly, the Blades have found the net in each of their five away games this season and that run could well continue against Leyton Orient.
Orient have picked up just one win in their last three league games and their form has been particularly patchy at Brisbane Road. Last time out, they tasted defeat against Doncaster in what was their second loss in four home fixtures.
I expect Sheffield United to make it three at 6/5.
Gillingham to beat Oxford United @ 27/20
Is there a finer team on the road in UK than Gillingham? I would think not, with Martin Allen’s men so far picking up an impressive five wins out of five away from Priestfield. Goals have evidently been the key, with the Gills scoring two or more in each of their last four away games.
Aside from a surprise slip-up against Rochdale, they have been in fine form and will be confident of success against Oxford United. The hosts have endured a difficult time of late in League Two, with a shaky 3-2 win over AFC Wimbledon representing their only victory in seven games.
The U’s have shipped plenty of goals too, with eight conceded in their last three matches at the Kassam Stadium. With Gillingham also unbeaten in five previous games against Oxford, an away win is likely at 27/20.
