Blades still fancied in title betting despite Rovers’ five-star showing

That result enabled the Magpies to leapfrog 16/1 title shots Stevenage, who remain unbeaten after eight games but were left frustrated at the weekend as a late Chris Brown equaliser rescued a 1-1 draw for Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Gary Smith’s men are a now a 5/1 chance to secure a route up to the Championship by whatever means necessary, while MK Dons and Sheffield United are now joint favourites at 3/2, with Swindon just behind at 2/1, Notts County at 11/4 and Tranmere available at 3/1.

The other big movers in the promotion market were Walsall, who shortened to 16/1 (from 25/1) after continuing their impressive early-season form with a 3-1 win over Preston – a result which saw the Lilywhites drift from 7/2 to 4/1.
