Gillingham clear favourites for League Two after going five points clear
Martin Allen's side are 7/5 to win the bottom tier after stretching their advantage at the top of the table and only three other teams are less than 16/1 in the betting.
With nearly a third of the season gone, the bookies at bwin seem to think that League Two is now a four-horse race, with Gillingham, Port Vale, Rotherham United and Fleetwood Town the only sides who are priced up with single-figure title quotes, while only five further teams (Cheltenham Town, Bradford City, Torquay United, Rochdale and Southend United) are quoted at less than 40/1.
Martin Allen’s Gillingham remain the clear favourites at 7/5 after yet another win kept them top of the table. The Gills’ 1-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon at Kingsmeadow keeps them five points clear of the chasing pack.
Port Vale are in second position, but they lost ground on the leaders after going down 2-0 to Northampton Town at Sixfields. That result leaves Micky Adams’ side a 5/1 chance to win League Two.
Rotherham and Fleetwood are both quoted at 6/1 for the title after the weekend’s action. The Millers won their third game in succession, beating Plymouth 1-0 at New York Stadium, to move into the play-off places, while Fleetwood remain fourth after drawing 0-0 with Rochdale at Spotland.

The next best priced side are Cheltenham, who moved into the third automatic promotion position after a comprehensive 3-0 win over Exeter at Abbey Business Stadium. The Robins are now 16/1 to win the league.
Next in the betting is Bradford City, who are 20/1 to win the bottom tier after going down 1-0 to Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium. The Bantams remain in the play-off places, though, as do Torquay, who are 25/1 to win League Two. The Gulls beat Morecambe 1-0 at Plainmoor.
Two sides are 33/1 for League Two after playing out goalless draws on Saturday. As mentioned, Rochdale drew 0-0 with Fleetwood, while there were also no goals when Southend United, who were as short as 10/1 for League Two at one point, hosted newly-promoted York City at Roots Hall.
