Carrick dismisses Liverpool form as factor ahead of Anfield showdown
Liverpool might be winless in the league after four games but this will count for nothing when they host Man Utd, says Michael Carrick.

Carrick believes Liverpool’s slow start to the season will have little bearing on the outcome of Sunday’s meeting between the two Premier League giants.

The 31-year-old midfielder thinks the rivalry between the two clubs means the game should be treated as a one-off event.
As such, he suggests not too much should be read into the fact that Liverpool find themselves down in 17th position in the Premier League table having lost two and drawn two of their four league games this season.
Carrick: “Until you go to one of these games or play in one of these games you don’t realise how special they are.”

Carrick goes into the Anfield showdown having scored the winner for the Red Devils in Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Galatasaray in the Champions League.
The England international can be backed at 8/1 to score on Sunday and is priced at 28/1 to break the deadlock.
