Man City still title favourites as Villa slashed for relegation
After an exciting weekend of Premier League football, Manchester City remain bwin’s favourites for the title, while Aston Villa have been cut dramatically for the drop.
None of the top six in the outright Premier League betting market lost this weekend but there has been movement in the prices for Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur to win the division, while Aston Villa have been slashed for relegation, with Southampton and Norwich City now joint-favourites for the drop.

Champions City still head the betting for the Premier League title after their 2-2 draw against Liverpool at Anfield. Despite losing their 100% record and trailing Chelsea by five points, Roberto Mancini’s men are now 7/5 with bwin to retain their crown, from a pre-season price of 13/10.
That draw gave Liverpool their first point of the season and Brendan Rodgers’ side are now 33/1 for the title after starting off at 25/1 before a ball was kicked. The Reds are now 3/1 to qualify for the Champions League, out from 21/10 prior to the new campaign.
As mentioned, it is Chelsea who lead the way after winning three matches out of three and their latest success, a 2-0 victory over Newcastle at Stamford Bridge, has resulted in Roberto Di Matteo’s side being cut from an ante-post price of 4/1 to 33/10 to remain third favourites for the title.

Manchester United sit between the Blues and their neighbours City in the betting after an eventful 3-2 win over Fulham at Old Trafford on Saturday, which saw Robin van Persie open his account for his new club with a first goal since his move from Arsenal.
The victory over the Cottagers gave United their first points of the season after their opening loss to Everton and Sir Alex Ferguson’s men are now 19/10 for the title, in slightly from their ante-post quote of 2/1.
