Moyes’ Old Trafford heroes should have too much for Fulham

With their stunning fightback against Man Utd still fresh in the memory, a buoyant Everton can edge out the Cottagers, says Ryan Forrester.

Moyes’ Old Trafford heroes should have too much for Fulham

After their enthralling 4-4 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend, which saw them come from 4-2 down to claim a share of the spoils, Everton host a Fulham side that have a dismal record at Goodison Park.

Victory for the Cottagers would be the first time the club have ever beaten the Toffees in the league on Merseyside and having gone down twice to David Moyes’ side already this season, it’s no surprise Everton head into this fixture as favourites.

The Blues are odds-on to do the double over the West Londoners in the league at 4/5, with the draw priced at 12/5, while just a fourth away win of the season for Martin Jol’s men can be backed at 7/2 in bwin’s 3way football betting market.

The last three times these two sides have met at Goodison, the scoreline has ended 2-1 in the hosts’ favour and backing a similar result on Saturday afternoon at 15/2 looks a great bet.

Unbeaten in their last five league games, recording three wins and two draws, Everton will be confident of seeing off their visitors once again after a 3-1 victory at Craven Cottage in October and a 2-1 home win in the FA Cup at the end of January.

In fact, the last three times these two sides have met at Goodison, the scoreline has ended 2-1 in the hosts’ favour and backing a similar result on Saturday afternoon at 15/2 looks a great bet.

New customers registering with bwin and placing their £25 free bet on this selection would see a return of £212.50 should it prove successful.

Only Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool have conceded fewer goals in the league this season than Everton, which doesn’t make good reading for Fulham, who have notched just 11 goals in their 16 games away from home.

The Cottagers, however, certainly won’t make life easy for Moyes and his players, as they head into the game on the back of a 2-1 win at home to Wigan last Saturday, which made it three wins and a draw in their previous four games.

Since his arrival at Everton from Rangers in January, forward Nikica Jelavic has had no problems settling into his new club and is proving yet another shrewd signing from Moyes, having already notched eight goals in all competitions.

The Croatian bagged a brace at Old Trafford last Sunday having opened the scoring with a looping header and the former SPL man can be backed at 6/5 to score at any time, while odds of 9/2 for him to score first look very appealing.

With just two points separating the clubs, this should prove a tight affair – but Everton should have just enough quality in the tank to see off their opponents, who are renowned for their poor form away from home.

Recommended bet: Everton to beat Fulham 2-1 @ 15/2
