Playing Away: Man City, Arsenal and Everton can pick up wins on the road
The Premier League is back, which means the return of Playing Away and Shaun Curran has picked out three fancies who can win on their travels.
Everybody needs a break from Playing Away every now and then (even Ryan Giggs didn’t spend every weekend round at his brother’s gaff) and with the international break giving us chance to recharge our batteries, I fancy Manchester City, Arsenal and Everton to pick up wins at West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers respectively when the Premier League resumes this weekend.
By using the free £20 bet you get when you register with bwin, you can either back any of the sides in a single, or all three in a treble that would give you nearly £115 back in returns.
And here’s why you should be backing these teams this weekend…
Manchester City to beat West Bromwich Albion @ 7/10
West Brom have been excellent at home so far this season, but all things must come to an end and Manchester City have the tools to beat the Baggies and inflict a first league defeat at the Hawthorns.
Steve Clarke has so far overseen a perfect home record in his fledgling managerial career at the Hawthorns, winning all four of his league games in charge, three of them to nil, two of those against Liverpool and Everton.
The Reds did beat them in the Capital One Cup, however, and those latter two wins over Reading and QPR were relatively fortunate, especially against Rangers, who were the better team for long periods.
City looked more like their old selves when beating Sunderland 3-0 last time out and it goes without saying they have the superior talent. They remain unbeaten despite being a bit below par and with West Brom not good enough to keep on winning at home, City have to be backed.

Arsenal to beat Norwich City @ 53/100
Chris Hughton is still looking for his first league win as Norwich boss and it looks like the wait will go on when Arsenal visit Carrow Road on Saturday evening.
Norwich have been so disorganised at the back at times this season they’ve made a case for taking the term ‘omnishambles’ from the coalition government and any team that has already conceded 17 goals in just seven league fixtures will be fearing the visit of an Arsenal side who know exactly how to punish teams who leave wide open spaces to exploit.
Leon Barnett et al are not up to the task of keeping out Santi Cazorla and company and with the Gunners’ fine record on the road this season – three wins, two draws, all at difficult grounds – you can’t see past an away win here.

Everton to beat Queens Park Rangers @ 6/5
Mark Hughes is getting to the point where he needs a win and he needs it yesterday, but there is every chance that Everton will pile more misery on QPR by winning at Loftus Road.
The former Blackburn boss might have saved the club from relegation last season, but his record as manager is not good, especially given the money he has spent both in the summer and before that in January.
The longer Rangers stay rooted to the bottom of the table, the sooner Hughes will be out of the door. Just two points from seven games is a woeful return and their form at home is horrible: just one goal from three games is a pathetic return and Everton can make the most of Rangers’ troubles.
The Toffees are sitting pretty in fourth place and playing very well and even without the injured Marouane Fellaini, Everton can profit from a defence that has conceded 16 goals already.
