Wolves can grab a rare point in Liberty Stadium dead rubber

While Swansea City have had a very successful first season in the top flight and have little left to play for, Wolves are the first side relegated and are already planning for the future, so backing a stalemate when they meet at the Liberty Stadium this weekend looks inviting at 29/10.

Four weeks ago this would have been a home banker for punters, but in recent weeks the Swans have lost their way slightly and it seems as though the strains of a long and demanding Premier League campaign have finally taken their toll.

Four defeats in their last six fixtures, including two at home without finding the net, suggests that Brendan Rodgers’ men have taken their foot of the gas a little and with safety guaranteed, Saturday’s clash with Wolves may be another damp squib.

With this in mind, the draw will probably be heavily backed, but Swansea go into the tie as big favourites. Bwin offer odds of 11/20 for a home victory, but the preference is to punt for the longer odds of a draw considering the Welsh side’s drop in form.

The last time these two met, Wolves fought back from 2-0 down in the final ten minutes to earn a point and a repeat of this scoreline is available at long odds of 27/2.

A more likely result though is 0-0 given both sides’ current form. As mentioned, Swansea have failed to score in two of their last three home fixtures and Wolves are without a goal in three matches, so it makes sense to plump for a drab 0-0, which is priced at 33/4.
