This Saturday’s SPL fixture list sees Hibernian visit table-toppers and Champions League qualifiers Celtic, while Aberdeen host St Mirren, Kilmarnock travel to newly-promoted Ross County and St Johnstone play Dundee United. That’s followed on Sunday by Dundee’s trip to Hearts and Motherwell’s fixture against Inverness.

Betting tip: Don’t bet on a home win in this one if recent history is anything to go by. With the Saints confident after a 5-1 midweek cup win, go for a double chance bet on a St Mirren win or a draw, at 67/100 with bwin.com.
Celtic v Hibernian (3.00pm)

Key stat: Celtic have been the half-time leaders in their last three matches.
Betting tip: With Celtic two goals up at half-time on their way to a 5-0 victory the last time this pair met, it makes sense to back the table-toppers to be ahead at both the break and the final whistle on Saturday at odds of 13/20.
Ross County v Kilmarnock (3.00pm)
Home win: 11/10 Draw: 21/10 Away win: 23/10
Key stat: Ross County’s first four league games have seen just three goals scored – two for and one against.
Betting tip: The odds on another low-scoring match for Ross County are worth a look. Less than 2.5 goals is on offer at 13/20, while under 1.5 goals is available at a tempting 39/20.
St Johnstone v Dundee United (3.00pm)
Home win: 23/10 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 21/20
Key stat: The Saints are yet to pick up an SPL win this season – losing three out of their four games so far.
Betting tip: In those four winless matches, St Johnstone have only scored twice. That makes a bet on a win to nil for third-placed United look very appealing at 23/10.
Sunday, September 2nd
Hearts v Dundee (3.00pm)
Home win: 1/2 Draw: 11/4 Away win: 13/5
Key stat: After four matches, Dundee are still without an SPL goal.
Betting tip: Though Hearts may be tired after a Thursday night Europa League outing against Liverpool, the Edinburgh side will still expect to keep a clean sheet against a weak Dundee side and are priced at 11/10 to do exactly that.
Motherwell v Inverness CT (3.00pm)
Home win: 19/20 Draw: 11/5 Away win: 13/5
Key stat: In Inverness’ first five games of the season, they have scored exactly two goals in four of them.
Betting tip: Backing the away side to score twice again with a correct score bet could pay off. They are priced at 17/1 to win 2-0, 23/2 to win 2-1 and the odds are 27/2 for them to head back to the Highlands with a 2-2 draw.
