Five the magic number for a super Sunday accumulator
Why backing Hearts, Marseille, Rangers, FC Twente and Sampdoria could return a very healthy profit this Sunday.
League tables across Europe are starting to take shape as the season clicks into top gear around the continent, and this week it is the turn of Hearts, Marseille, FC Twente, Sampdoria and Rangers to take centre stage in the 5/1 accumulator.
New customers to bwin qualify for a free £20 bet and using that to back these five teams at odds of just over 5/1 will return £130.85 if successful.
Hearts to beat Dundee @ 1/2
Dundee travel to Tynecastle on Sunday rooted to the bottom of the SPL table and still seeking their first league goal of the season. Their only point so far came in a 0-0 draw with Kilmarnock on the opening day and since then, they have lost 2-0 at home to St Mirren, 3-0 away to Dundee United and 1-0 at home to Ross County.
| Champions League | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dortmund | 1-2 | Bayern Munich | £155.00 | (27/4) |
| Dortmund | 0-1 | Bayern Munich | £160.00 | (7/1) |
| Dortmund | 0-2 | Bayern Munich | £175.00 | (31/4) |
| Dortmund win | £86.60 | (333/100) | ||
| Draw | £84.00 | (16/5) | ||
| Bayern Munich win | £33.40 | (67/100) | ||
In midweek they slumped to a 2-1 League Cup defeat at Third Division Queen’s Park to make it four consecutive defeats in all competitions, leaving boss Barry Smith feeling the heat.
Hearts are unbeaten in the SPL this season having drawn three and won one so far. They held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw in at Anfield in the Europa League on Thursday and will go into this game high on confidence.
Traditionally strong at home, Hearts should walk this one.
Sampdoria to beat Siena @ 83/100
With Serie A only one week old it might be difficult to make an accurate prediction based on form, but for Siena, the league table is already taking on a familiar look.
They finished last season in 14th place, just eight points off the drop, and won only three times on the road all season.
Siena started the new campaign with an uninspiring 0-0 draw at home to newly-promoted Torino and now face another of the newly-promoted sides, Sampdoria, who stunned AC Milan with a brilliant 1-0 win in the San Siro in last weekend’s opener.
The momentum should be with Sampdoria and a home win seems the only likely outcome.
FC Twente to beat VVV Venlo @ 3/25
Having won the Eredivisie title in 2010 and finished second in 2011, FC Twente have fired out an early statement of intent this time around by winning all of their first three league games.
On top of that, Steve McClaren’s men have made a flying start to their European campaign, having played eight games in the Europa League already, winning six of them and losing just one.
VVV Venlo have started considerably slower, drawing once and losing twice in their first three games. Picking up their first win away at Twente seems unlikely in the extreme – a home win in this one is nailed on.
Rangers to beat Elgin City @ 3/25
After their demotion to the Third Division following liquidation, Scottish giants Rangers are looking to bounce back to the top flight as quickly as possible.
Despite two draws away from home so far, they have seemed almost invincible in front of the huge crowds at Ibrox. They beat Second Division East Fife 4-0 in the League Cup first round, East Stirlingshire 5-1 in the Third Division and then First Division Falkirk 3-0 in the League Cup second round on Thursday.
Elgin are actually above Rangers in the league but with such a gulf in class that should prove irrelevant. The odds are massively in favour of the hosts for a reason – expect an easy home win for Rangers.
Marseille to beat Rennes @ 9/10
Marseille have made a flying start to the new Ligue 1 season, winning all of their opening three games. Taking their Europa League qualifiers into account, Elie Baup’s side are unbeaten in seven games this term, winning five and drawing two.
Rennes picked up their first win last week at home to Bastia but they lost their previous two games before that and won’t be relishing a trip to the intimidating Stade Velodrome.
At odds of 9/10, Marseille are a must on all accumulators this week.
